Job Opportunity – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse – Texas

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Lubbock, Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week assignment with options for extension. Self-scheduling model with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period. Variable shifts available. No on-call required. Patient ratios of 1:2-4. May float to Pediatrics, PICU, or Pediatric ED as needed.

Highlights:
  • Level IV NICU at a 181-bed pediatric facility and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center serving a daily census of approximately 35 patients across 43 beds
  • Work with a diverse case mix including prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, HIE, and surgical subspecialties (excluding cardiac)
  • Epic charting system with 12-hour orientation provided
  • Self-scheduling flexibility with variable shift options
  • Collaborative interdisciplinary team with interpretation services and comprehensive neonatal support
  • Free parking and professional RN uniform standards
Requirements:
  • Active Compact RN license required at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience; Level III or Level IV experience strongly preferred
  • Current BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Epic charting system
  • Experience with advanced NICU skills including ventilator management, high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, UAC/UVC management, therapeutic hypothermia, and administration of blood products
  • Strong clinical knowledge in neonatal dosage calculations, developmental care, and care of neonates 29+ weeks gestation
  • Two professional references covering one year of experience within the last three years
  • Commitment to work 3 of 5 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
