Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift - 36 Shift Information: 7a-7p Clinical Interviewing- yes On Call, Call Back Requirements: None Weekend Rotation: EOW Holiday Requirements: Every other or 50% of holidays in contract Floating Requirements: None

Unit Information:
  • Beds: 23
  • Census: Average patients/day: 12-15
Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years of Level III or IV NICU experience
  • Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
  • 23 weeks and above.
  • Respiratory distress, micro-premies, bubble cpap/oscillator, drug and alcohol (eat/sleep/console), observation and treat for hypoglycemia, can treat bili babies, feeders/growers
  • EPIC experience required within about the last year (ask manager approval if more than a year)
  • No surgical interventions or ECMO
Patient Ratios:
  • 1:1-3, depending on acuity. Could go up to 1:4 if only feeders/growers
Required License, National Certification, Certs:
  • BLS, NRP
  • STABLE preferred
Skills required:

Support within the Department:
  • NNP 24/7
  • NICU RT 24/7
  • OT-CLC during the day
  • 2 Neonatologist on site during the day, on call at night
  • HUC/CNA
  • Charge nurse 24/7 – will try not to give patient assignment
  • Manager/Supervisor during the day
  • Lactation consultant during the day
Technology/Equipment:
  • EMR: EPIC – experience required within last year
  • IV Pump: Plum ICU Medical
  • Med dispensing: Omnicell
  • Unit specific equipment: Milk prep room (Angel Eye), Medfusion syringe pump for fluids and for feeds
Floating: If yes, where:
  • No
Orientation (facility and unit):
  • NEO
  • 2-3 shifts dependent on experience and comfort level
Scheduling:
  • Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
  • On call: No
  • Holiday Expectations: Every other or 50% of holidays in contract
  • Approval of RTO: ok to approve up to 5 days. Send any days around holidays to manager for approval
  • Shift times: 0700-1930, 1900-0730
  • Schedule cycle: Self scheduling for preferred shifts, manager will have final say. Schedule made in 6-week increments, released around 2 weeks prior to beginning
  • Could consider OT if requested, but no guarantees
