Job Title: Nursing Float Pool RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursing Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years required License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Experience with SERVO and HFOV vents, traches, chest tubes, inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) - Proficient in umbilical and arterial lines, drips - Knowledge of NG, G-tube, and enteral feeds - Ability to work with premature infants and unstable newborns requiring medical care Description: Must be able to travel between assigned locations. Assignments are posted 90-120 minutes prior to shift start. Facility is a Magnet Client with Level 1 Trauma and Level III NICU. Patient types include premature infants and medically unstable newborns. Patient ratios are 1 RN to 2 patients. There are no CNAs on the unit. Charge Nurse is free floating. Respiratory Therapy available 24/7. Neonatologist available 24/7. Each patient has their own stethoscope for infection prevention reasons. Charting system used is EPIC, Pyxis, Alaris, and Phillips monitor. Floating may occur to another NICU within the system, or to the pediatric inpatient unit for appropriate assignments. Weekend rotation is every 3rd weekend. Approval of time off goes through the manager. Scrubs are provided on the unit for infection prevention.
