Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) – Kansas

Start Date: June 30, 2026

Location: Wichita, Kansas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM; seasonal travel assignment

Highlights:

  • 84-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit providing advanced care to critically ill neonates
  • Patient ratios: 2:1 NICU, 3:1 Nursery/Specialty Care Unit
  • Work alongside a robust multidisciplinary team including Charge Nurses, Clinical Nurse Coordinators, RNs, Respiratory Therapists, and Unit Secretaries (160 staff members)
  • Exposure to advanced procedures including whole body cooling, surgical cases (NEC, PDA, CVC), PDA ligations, high-frequency ventilation, and chest tube management
  • EMR system: Neonatal Notes Manager and Meditech
  • Equipment includes Medela, Alaris, Ohmeda, Drager ventilators, and Philips/GE cardiac monitors

Requirements:

  • Active Kansas RN licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Minimum 1 year of current acute care NICU hospital experience required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications
  • Preferred: Level IV NICU experience, prior Meditech experience, and experience in large teaching facilities
