Registered Nurse – NICU (Travel Contract)

Austin, TX | Acute Care NICU
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | On-Call Required | Expected 3x12-hour shifts per week | 4 weekend shifts per scheduling period
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 65-bed Level 4 NICU with patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 4:1 depending on acuity
- Operate and monitor specialized equipment including isolettes, ventilators, feeding pumps, IV pumps, and breast pumps
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech and CPN EMR systems
- Participate in on-call responsibilities as required by the unit
- Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, team leads, transport nurses, respiratory therapists, and unit assistants
- Fulfill weekend shift obligations as scheduled (4 weekend shifts per schedule)
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in the state of Texas (or compact eligibility)
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience
- Current BLS certification required
- Ability to work night shift hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Willingness and availability to fulfill on-call requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 or more years of Level 4 NICU experience strongly preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience in a NICU setting
- Strong teamwork orientation with a positive, adaptable attitude
- Familiarity with Meditech and/or CPN EMR platforms
