# Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery / LDRP RN – North CarolinaStart Date:

Schedule:

12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week, 13-week contract available. Weekend requirement: 8 shifts per contract. Call may be required if low census. Occasional floating may occur.

Highlights:
  • LDRP unit with 15 rooms/17 beds serving low-risk maternal and neonatal population with approximately 80 births per month
  • Comprehensive care model requiring experience in both Labor & Delivery and Couplet Care/Mother-Baby
  • Nurse responsibilities include L&D, circulating for C-sections, PACU recovery, and postpartum/newborn care
  • Patient ratios: L&D 1:1-2, Couplet Care 1:3 (may fluctuate based on unit needs)
  • Electronic charting system: Epic, with Pyxis medication management
  • 24-hour orientation program including hospital orientation week plus two 12-hour unit shifts
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Must have both Labor & Delivery and Couplet Care (or LDRP/Mother-Baby) experience
  • Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
  • Required certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, Fetal Heart Monitoring, NRP, STABLE
  • Proficiency in antepartum care, fetal monitoring, IV therapy, medication administration (including Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, Prostaglandins), labor management, neonatal care, postpartum procedures, and breastfeeding support
  • Experience with circulating in OR for C-sections and recovering post-surgical patients
  • Ability to work independently in triage, labor, delivery, and postpartum settings
  • Epic charting experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ACLS certification
  • AWHONN Advanced certification
  • Triage experience
