Description:
The position is for an RN specializing in Mother-Baby, Couplet Care, and Post Partum.
This role requires working night shifts.
Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in the specialty.
The RN will support postpartum patients who do not require ICU-level care.
The patient population includes high-risk cases and newborns who do not need NICU-level care.
Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:3 for couplets, or up to 6 patients.
Patients may include those weighing 2000 gm and above, late preterm infants, and substance-exposed newborns.
Skills required for this position include the administration of medications, breastfeeding support, and management of postpartum complications.
Nursing responsibilities also encompass infant assessments, education for parents, and monitoring of potential complications.
Additional procedures include managing magnesium drips, insulin drips, and PCA & PCEA pumps.
Travel nurses are expected to float between units as needed, providing flexibility.
Weekend coverage may be required.
The nursing staff will collaborate with interdisciplinary support services for comprehensive patient care.
