Location: Overland Park, Kansas

Schedule: Varies; typically includes 2 hard-to-staff shifts (Monday/Friday) and 1 full weekend requirement every 3rd week plus 1 additional weekend shift

Highlights:

• 26-bed postpartum unit caring for women of childbearing age and newborns
• Patient ratios: 6–8 patients per RN
• Documentation systems: CPN and Meditech
• Floating only within women's services, pediatrics, or NICU if cross-trained
• No on-call requirements
• Patient experience includes postpartum care, LDRP, well baby nursery, recoveries, and attending births for baby care

Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred)
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Experience in mother-baby, postpartum, or labor and delivery nursing preferred
• Ability to assess and identify risk factors related to sepsis, VTE/DVT, suicide, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injury
• Strong skills in discharge education, abnormal assessment, pain management, time management, and prioritization of care
• Familiarity with AIDET and BSSR communication frameworks preferred
