Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (Mother Baby / Post Partum) – Kansas
Start Date: August 24, 2026
Location: Overland Park, Kansas

Schedule: Typically includes 2 hard-to-staff shifts (Monday/Friday), plus 1 full weekend requirement every 3rd week and 1 additional weekend. No on-call requirements. Patient ratio of 6-8 patients per RN.
Highlights:
- 26-bed Post Partum unit caring for women of childbearing age and newborns
- Patient experience includes post-partum care, LDRP, well baby nursery, recoveries, and attending births for baby
- Documentation systems: CPN and Meditech
- Equipment includes vitals machines, glucometers, TCB, and post partum supplies
- Floating within Women's Services unless cross-trained to Pediatrics and/or NICU
- Collaborative RN-focused team environment with limited use of unit secretaries or PCTs
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Experience with post-partum care, abnormal assessments, and discharge education
- Ability to recognize and manage risk factors including sepsis, VTE/DVT, suicide risk, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injuries
- Proficiency in AIDET and BSSR patient communication frameworks
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
