Job Opportunity – Postpartum Registered Nurse – Ohio
Start Date: November 16, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36-hour orientation followed by standard unit scheduling; weekend coverage required; two pre-approved time off periods available; may float to units of similar acuity as needed
Highlights:
- 40-bed inpatient postpartum unit providing family-centered care to mothers and newborns
- Daily census of approximately 60 patients including postpartum mothers, healthy newborns, and neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) infants
- EPIC charting system with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, social services, and rapid response teams
- Patient population includes vaginal and cesarean deliveries, postpartum readmissions, and Level 1 nursery care
- Couplet care model with emphasis on breastfeeding support and comprehensive discharge teaching
- Telemetry interpretation required; EKG exam must be passed prior to start date
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of postpartum nursing experience
- Current BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications
- IV start skills and labor & delivery (L&D) experience required
- EPIC electronic medical record experience
- Valid Compact or Ohio RN license in hand at time of application
- Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role)
- Ability to complete urgent Ohio fingerprinting requirements upon contract signing
