They will be responsible for managing patient care in a unit with a patient ratio of 3-4 dyads and 6-8 patients on nights and weekends. The nurse may be required to float to units with similar acuity as needed. Interdisciplinary support includes teams for IV, physical therapy, interpretation services, social services, and pharmacy. The unit cares for postpartum patients and healthy newborns, as well as readmissions for complications such as wound infection and preeclampsia. Telemetry interpretation is required, and the nurse will be expected to pass an EKG exam prior to starting. All candidates must be responsive and cooperative with credentialing processes.
