Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit managing diagnoses including traumatic brain injuries, orthopedic trauma, spine injuries, subdural hematoma, and neurological trauma
- Administer and manage heparin drips, blood products, PCA, and other IV therapies including central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care
- Perform and manage tracheostomy care, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleuravac), colostomy care, feeding tube care, wound care, and oral suctioning
- Monitor and manage dysrhythmias, O2 protocol, and non-invasive airway management
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic and operate within unit systems including Pyxis and SBAR communication
- Float to similar units and alternate care locations as needed; participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments as required during catastrophic events or mass casualty situations
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (NC or Compact license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical RN experience within the last 5 years
- BLS certification required
- Epic documentation experience required
- Must be comfortable with patient ratios of 1:6–7
- Must be able to manage heparin drips, phlebotomy, IV starts, isolation precautions/PPE, and all skills listed in the responsibilities above

Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management and management of drips
- Experience with CVA, pre/post neuro surgery, or spinal cord injuries
