    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 13–26 Week Assignment

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit managing diagnoses including diabetes, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, GI bleed, anemia, encephalopathy, hip fracture, and COVID-19
    • Perform and manage clinical skills including IV therapy, blood product administration, central and PICC line care, phlebotomy, wound care, and colostomy and feeding tube management
    • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias using remote telemetry monitoring and respond appropriately including activation of Rapid Response Team
    • Manage respiratory support modalities including CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and oral suctioning
    • Adhere to isolation precautions including care within a designated COVID isolation area
    • Float to other units within or near the facility as needed based on unit census and staffing requirements
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact RN license
    • Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
    • Proficiency in Medical Surgical and telemetry nursing skills including IV insulin protocols, heparin, PCA, chest tube management, and pre/post hemodialysis management
    • Must pass EKG testing prior to start
    • Availability for full hospital orientation during week one and willingness to complete required pre-start online modules prior to start date
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with telemetry unit monitoring, port access, surgical drains, tracheostomy management, and ABG interpretation
    • Background in CVA patient care and insulin management
    • Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system
    • Experience working in a combined Med/Surg and Telemetry environment
