Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit managing common diagnoses including CHF, COPD, cellulitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6–1:7; candidates must be comfortable with a ratio of up to 1:7
- Titrate heparin drips based on aPTT results as required
- Monitor and manage patients on intermittent BiPAP; unit does not utilize ventilators
- Work alongside PCTs and collaborate with remote monitor technicians overseeing telemetry
- Float to other units as needed based on census; travelers are first to float
Required Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license; any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission
- BLS certification (required)
- NIHSS certification (required)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays as scheduled (typically half of total weekends)
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- A copy of candidate's unexpired driver's license must be included with all submissions
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience working on a Medical Surgical unit with telemetry monitoring
- Familiarity with heparin drip titration protocols
- Experience with scheduling platforms such as Qgenda
