Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit managing common diagnoses including CHF, COPD, cellulitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI
Maintain patient ratios of up to 1:6/7; candidates must be comfortable with a ratio of up to 1:7
Titrate heparin drips based on aPTT results
Monitor and manage patients on intermittent BiPAP; unit does not utilize ventilators
Work collaboratively with PCTs and coordinate with remote monitor technicians overseeing telemetry
Float to other units as needed based on census; travelers are first to float
Required Qualifications
Active and unrestricted RN license; any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
NIHSS certification required
Must submit a copy of an unexpired driver's license with application
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Availability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled (typically half of total weekends)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience on a Medical Surgical unit with telemetry monitoring
Familiarity with heparin drip titration protocols
Experience working with BiPAP equipment
