Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit managing common diagnoses including CHF, COPD, cellulitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI
- Titrate heparin drips based on aPTT results
- Monitor and manage patients on intermittent BiPAP; no ventilator management required
- Utilize telemetry monitoring supported remotely by monitor technicians
- Collaborate with PCTs and a charge RN (with assignment) to deliver patient care at ratios up to 1:7
- Float to other units as needed based on census; travelers are floated first
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted RN license (any licensing history or hits must be disclosed at time of submission)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Must be comfortable working at patient ratios up to 1:7
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled (typically every other weekend)
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a Medical Surgical setting with similar patient populations
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring workflows
- Experience with heparin drip titration protocols
