Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups across a 60-bed medical unit
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort and outcomes
- Maintain professional accountability for the provision of care and evaluate the effectiveness of care delivered by other direct caregivers
- Operate unit equipment including bladder scanners, vein finders, IV pumps, and wound vacs; document using EPIC EMR
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable nursing practice standards
- Float as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or hold an active Missouri RN license
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient Medical Surgical experience
- Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required for assignments running November 1 through April 1
- Must be available the full orientation week; night shift orients on day shift
- Expected weekly hours of 36 or 48 — preference must be indicated at time of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Experience with telemetry in a Medical Surgical setting
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, fast-paced inpatient environment
- Dependable and flexible with scheduling, including every other weekend as required by the facility
