Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3 days per week with every other weekend | Projected Start: September 14, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with a 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio across a 27-bed floor
- Care for post-operative patients, with an emphasis on orthopedic post-op populations
- Perform and manage blood transfusions, IV therapy, and central line maintenance
- Utilize Meditech Expanse for clinical documentation and Computer on Wheels (COW) and Pyxis at the bedside
- Float between two Medical Surgical units (MS2 and MS3) as needed per staffing requirements
- Collaborate with unit secretaries and patient care technicians available across all shifts
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Tennessee or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Experience with post-operative patients, particularly orthopedic surgery patients
- BLS certification required
- Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and every other weekend
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification (preferred but not required)
- Prior experience with Meditech Expanse documentation system
- Familiarity with Pyxis medication dispensing systems and Welch Allyn vital sign equipment
