Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 3 days per week with every other weekend | Projected Start: August 3, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with a 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio across two floors (27 beds each)
- Perform and manage blood transfusions, IV therapy, and central line maintenance
- Care for post-operative patients, with emphasis on orthopedic post-op populations
- Utilize electronic documentation via Meditech Expanse and operate equipment including Computer on Wheels, Pyxis, and Welch Allyn vital sign machines
- Float between two Medical Surgical floors as needed per unit policy
- Collaborate with unit secretaries and patient care technicians available across all shifts
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Tennessee or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Experience with post-operative patients, particularly orthopedic surgery
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency with standard Medical Surgical procedures including blood transfusions and IV/central line management
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred but not required
- Prior experience with Meditech Expanse documentation system
- Familiarity with Pyxis medication dispensing systems
