    Job Title

    RN Med Surg – Medical Surgical / Oncology

    Springfield, OH

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend, Every Other Holiday | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments and maintain current nursing care plans for all assigned patients
    • Administer medications safely and consistently in accordance with state practice standards and applicable policies and procedures
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to establish discharge and continuing care goals and strategies
    • Serve as a point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments and act as a patient safety advocate through ongoing quality improvement participation
    • Identify patient and family learning needs and provide individualized, comprehensive education and support
    • Evaluate patient physical and emotional responses to treatment, assess intervention effectiveness, and revise plans of care accordingly
    Required Qualifications
    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice or covered by compact licensure
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to direct patient care
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
    • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
    • Must pass EKG exam prior to placement
    • Travel candidates only — local candidates will not be considered
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Oncology nursing experience preferred; travelers without chemotherapy certification will not be assigned to administer chemotherapy
    • Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
    • Medical-Surgical nursing certification (RN-BC, CMSRN, or equivalent) preferred
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
