    Key Responsibilities
    • Perform comprehensive patient assessments across the lifespan and develop individualized plans of care for patients with acute, chronic, and post-operative conditions
    • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per provider orders; recognize and respond to changes in patient condition with appropriate interventions or escalation of care
    • Apply independent nursing judgment and critical thinking consistent with the Alaska Board of Nursing scope of practice, including determining priorities, initiating interventions, and identifying when provider consultation is required
    • Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, facilitate referrals, and support continuity of services
    • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record
    • Participate in quality and performance improvement activities; support orientation, mentoring, and education of staff, students, and peers; float to other departments as needed
    Required Qualifications
    • Associate's degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program
    • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association required at time of hire
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association required
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association required
    • Clinical competency validation required within 3 months of hire and every 3 years; High-Risk Competency validation required within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience in a Medical Surgical or acute inpatient care setting
    • Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical systems
    • Strong clinical judgment, organization, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
    • Experience providing culturally responsive, patient-centered care
