Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
- Care for post-operative patients, monitoring recovery and managing clinical needs
- Maintain and manage surgical drains and drainage systems
- Perform dressing changes, wound care, and related wound management procedures
- Operate unit equipment including Baxter IV pumps, Medfusion pumps, and SCDs
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Virginia or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- BLS certification required — candidates without this will not be considered
- Travel nursing contract position — candidate must meet travel assignment eligibility requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for post-operative patients in a Med Surg setting
- Proficiency with dressing changes, wound care, and drain management
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
