    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Travel Contract)

    Location

    Rutherfordton, NC

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Travel | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 Hours per Week Guaranteed | 13-Week Assignment | Every Other Weekend Required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Medical Surgical unit serving an all-ages patient population
    • Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6, delivering safe and effective nursing care throughout each shift
    • Perform IV and nasogastric (NG) tube insertion as required by patient care needs
    • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using Meditech EHR
    • Float to other Medical Surgical areas within scope of practice as needed
    • Communicate openly and effectively with the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or a compact state
    • Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — must be obtained prior to start date
    • Demonstrated proficiency in IV and NG tube insertion
    • Experience with Meditech or comparable electronic health record system
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced acute care environment
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
    • Prior travel nursing experience in an acute care setting
