Assess, plan, delegate, and coordinate nursing care for assigned patients throughout the scheduled shift in collaboration with the interdisciplinary health care team
Identify actual and potential patient needs and problems through nursing assessment to facilitate an organized, prioritized plan of care
Supervise and assign patient care duties to LPNs, Nursing Assistants, and Unit Clerks based on patient acuity and staff proficiency
Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency and life-threatening situations
Administer medications and treatments including IV medications, blood and blood products, and patient-controlled analgesia; document assessments, interventions, and patient/family responses
Receive and follow up on physician orders, evaluate patient outcomes, and maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control and safety policies
Required Qualifications
Current and active RN state license (required)
Minimum 1–2 years of recent acute care Medical Surgical experience
Current CPR certification required
Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel placement
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with Meditech EHR
Comfort floating to all Medical Surgical floors as needed
Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
Familiarity with patient ratios of 6–7:1 in a Med Surg environment
