Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care on a unique adult medical/surgical unit serving patients with active co-morbid psychiatric and/or behavioral health conditions
- Adapt to a varied patient population in a dynamic and evolving care environment
- Participate in rotating shift schedules including days, evenings, and nights, as well as weekends and holidays
- Fulfill charge nurse responsibilities as needed per unit requirements
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support both medical/surgical and psychiatric patient needs
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN License (NY License ONLY)
- Minimum 2 years of recent medical/surgical experience
- Psychiatric/behavioral health nursing experience required
- Telemetry experience required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association (AHA) ONLY
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in an acute care medical/surgical setting
- Flexibility and enthusiasm for working in a growing, one-of-a-kind specialty unit
- Interest in pursuing dual-certification in medical/surgical and psychiatric nursing (eligible after experience requirement is met)
