Contract | Full-Time | Days | 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 33-bed adult Medical Surgical unit (no telemetry) with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, which may flex up to 1:7
- Care for patients with complex diagnoses including stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, amputation, and multi-trauma
- Perform and manage peripheral line care, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions
- Float to affiliated inpatient Medical Surgical units at a nearby hospital as needed
- Adhere to weekend requirements, which may include every other weekend or up to 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling block
- Work at least one holiday per 13-week contract; during winter holiday periods, two holidays may be required
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia state RN license or active Compact RN license required; pending license may be accepted only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state
- BLS certification required
- Hands-on experience in Medical Surgical and Rehabilitation nursing settings
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position; candidates residing between 50–99.9 miles may be considered for a single 13-week assignment with no eligibility to extend
Preferred Experience / Skills
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- CRRN (Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse) certification preferred
- CPI Blue Card certification highly preferred
