    Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Behavioral Health

    Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide comprehensive inpatient nursing care for adult patients with complex medical conditions, co-occurring behavioral health needs, and substance use disorders on a specialized 12-bed unit
    • Perform assessment, stabilization, and treatment interventions utilizing a multidisciplinary team approach alongside physicians, therapists, case managers, and addiction specialists
    • Manage peripheral line care, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions
    • Participate in Rapid Response and Code team activations as needed
    • Support medication management, behavioral interventions, and discharge planning to facilitate successful transitions to community-based services
    • May be required to serve in a charge nurse capacity and to precept staff; float within skillset as needed
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Virginia State RN license or active Compact RN license required (pending license considered only for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state)
    • Current BLS certification required
    • Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
    • Proficiency in Med/Surg nursing care with demonstrated experience utilizing Rapid Response and Code teams
    • EPIC electronic health records experience required
    • Ability to meet weekend requirements (every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block) and work at least one holiday per 13-week contract
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience caring for patients with substance use disorders and/or behavioral health conditions in an inpatient setting
    • Familiarity with recovery-oriented, evidence-based care models within a multidisciplinary team environment
    • Prior charge nurse or preceptor experience
