Contract | Night Shift | 12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, caring for medical and post-operative/surgical patient populations
Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management
Monitor patients using portable telemetry equipment as needed; must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythms and pass a dysrhythmia exam
Float as needed to telemetry (1:4 ratio) and between Medical Surgical floors
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including a hospitalist available 24/7, Respiratory Therapy, and Pharmacy
Participate in weekend and holiday rotations integrated with permanent staff scheduling
Required Qualifications
Active RN license valid in California
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Minimum 2–3 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
Prior travel nursing experience required
Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms; must pass a dysrhythmia exam upon onboarding
Proficiency or ability to work with Cerner EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience floating to telemetry units
Familiarity with post-operative and surgical patient populations
Strong team-oriented mindset with demonstrated ability to collaborate in fast-paced environments
