Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Infectious Disease

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (0700–1930) | Every-other-weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Medical Surgical / Infectious Disease unit serving patients with diagnoses including infectious disease, isolation precautions, COVID, MRSA, C-Diff, and related conditions
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5–6 (1:4 for COVID patients) in an all-private-room environment
• Administer and manage IV medications including Heparin, antibiotics, and other standard MedSurg drips; no cardiac drips required
• Adhere to strict isolation precautions and infection control protocols at all times
• Monitor patients who may be on CPAP, BiPAP, or high-flow oxygen, coordinated with Respiratory Therapy; no ventilator management required
• Float to other MedSurg units as needed; if floated to Telemetry, assignments will be within demonstrated skillset

Required Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Travel nursing experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• BLS certification (current and unexpired) required
• Strong working knowledge of Medical Surgical nursing, infectious disease care, and isolation precautions
• Must provide a valid, unexpired government-issued driver's license at time of submittal

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience caring for patients with infectious disease diagnoses such as MRSA, C-Diff, or COVID
• Familiarity with remote telemetry monitoring workflows
• Experience working alongside CNA support staff in a team-based care model
