Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | 48 Hours Guaranteed per Week Preferred | 4 Weekend Shifts (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) per 4-Week Period
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Medical-Surgical unit with a 6:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
- Perform and manage PIV insertion/removal, central line management, Foley catheter insertion/management/removal, and NG tube insertion/management/removal
- Manage chest tubes, drains, continuous bladder irrigation, wound care, and ostomy management
- Perform and interpret EKGs; apply basic dysrhythmia recognition in patient care decisions
- Operate unit equipment including Alaris IV pumps, feeding pumps, Hoyer/Sara Steady lifts, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, and vein finder
- Document and manage patient information using Meditech EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in the state of Kansas (or compact license eligibility)
- Minimum 1 year of prior inpatient acute care experience
- Basic dysrhythmia recognition skills required
- BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience working in a trauma center setting
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR
- Experience with Alaris IV pumps and virtual admission RN workflows
