    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

    Location

    Omaha, NE | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 4x12-Hour Shifts | 13 or 26-Week Contract Options | 36 or 48-Hour Weekly Options Available

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 45-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit serving adult patients with acute and chronic conditions including sepsis, respiratory illnesses, gastrointestinal disorders, endocrine conditions, and cardiac diseases
    • Administer and manage IV drips as required across all floors
    • Utilize digital tools including digital door signs, digital whiteboards, and virtual nursing support systems to enhance communication and patient safety
    • Float within scope to meet facility staffing needs across multiple units, including potential float to an additional campus; travelers are first to float and must be prepared to float frequently
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, and swoop/paramedics
    • Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nebraska RN license required; pending license accepted, though candidates without license in hand at time of submission will be scheduled with a six-week-out start date)
    • Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience in a large, urban hospital setting; experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center may be considered in lieu of this requirement
    • BLS certification required
    • Proficiency with EPIC charting is required
    • First-time travelers are not accepted (exceptions considered for candidates with 2+ years at a Level I Academic Medical Center)
    • Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • ACLS certification preferred
    • CPI certification preferred
    • NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
    • Experience working in a teaching hospital or academic medical center environment
