Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Contract | Travel | Days | 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM | 13-Week Assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 26-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 6:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
- Perform and monitor advanced clinical skills including NG/NJ tube management, chest tube care, and heparin drip administration
- Administer medications accurately, including controlled substances, in accordance with facility policies
- Monitor and interpret vital signs, laboratory values, and patient status within normal limits
- Care for post-procedural cardiac patients returning from the cath lab
- Fulfill scheduling requirements including 4 weekend shifts per month; may float to Surgical or Acute Rehab units
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
- Proficiency in medication administration and controlled substance protocols
- Competency with standard patient care equipment including Hoyer lifts and rolling VS units
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN degree preferred
- Prior Medical/Surgical nursing experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
