    Job Title

    Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

    Location

    Oakland, MD | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 12-Hour Night Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required (Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights) | Holidays rotate with regular staff

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed Med/Surg unit (currently operating at 20 beds) with a nurse-to-patient ratio of no more than 5:1
    • Care for a diverse patient population including chest pain, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, orthopedic, detox, and post-operative patients, including pediatric patients
    • Document telemetry strip readings faxed from the ICU monitor technicians
    • Collaborate with respiratory therapy for management of CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen patients
    • Float to assist other units as a tasker or extra set of hands as needed
    • Complete documentation using EPIC EMR
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN licensure
    • BLS certification (required)
    • NIHSS certification (required for all RNs)
    • EPIC EMR experience required
    • Strong Med/Surg background due to the variety of patient diagnoses managed on this unit
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • ACLS certification (recommended but not required)
    • PALS certification (recommended but not required)
    • Experience with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen patients
    • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity Med/Surg environment with a broad patient census
