Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM) | Weekends and holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 38-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:5–6 nurse-to-patient ratio, with the ability to manage up to 1:6
Care for a diverse adult patient population with diagnoses including pneumonia, UTI, dehydration, influenza, alcohol withdrawal, respiratory illness, and surgical cases (orthopedic, general surgery, spinal, and urology)
Titrate and manage drips including Heparin; administer set-rate drips such as Bumex and Lasix
Conduct bedside shift reports and perform proactive patient rounding
Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, respiratory therapy, and cardiac techs to deliver coordinated patient care
May float to the IMCU for Medical Surgical assignments as needed
Required Qualifications
Active RN license
Current BLS certification
Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience
Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record documentation
Ability to manage a 1:6 patient ratio
Experience with bedside shift report
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with respiratory therapy equipment including tracheostomies, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
Comfort working in a high-turnover environment with frequent admissions and discharges
Strong teamwork skills including willingness to assist with call lights and collaborate with CNAs
