Job TitleTravel RN - Medical Surgical (Night Shift)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM | Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday) required; weekdays flexible
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed Medical Surgical unit with a night shift patient ratio of 6:1
- Perform and document thorough patient assessments using strong clinical assessment skills
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy using IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing cabinets
- Perform procedures including IV placement and foley catheter insertion
- Utilize remote telemetry and virtual sitter equipment; document care in the Meditech system
- Adhere to patient experience standards including BSSR protocols and hourly rounding; float between Medical Surgical units as needed per PRN float policy
Required Qualifications- Active RN license valid for practice in Tennessee
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Proficiency with IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing cabinets
- Strong clinical assessment skills
Preferred Experience / Skills- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHS) certification
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification
- Experience with Meditech documentation system
- Familiarity with Sara Steady lift equipment, Wound VAC, and remote telemetry technology
