    Job Title

    Travel Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (Post-Op Med/Surg)

    Location

    Nashville, Tennessee

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract – Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 34-bed Post-Op Medical/Surgical unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
    • Perform IV starts, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
    • Monitor patients using telemetry, continuous pulse oximetry, PCA pumps, and feeding pumps
    • Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
    • Conduct bedside shift reports and actively include patients and family members in the plan of care
    • Float to other units as directed per contract labor floating policy
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
    • Minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Proficiency with IV insertion, wound care, and management of surgical drains, NG tubes, and chest tubes
    • Ability to prioritize care and multitask in a fast-paced acute care environment
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with Meditech electronic health records documentation system
    • Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and related equipment (EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile communication technology)
    • Experience in a trauma or stroke-certified acute care facility
