    Travel RN – Medical Surgical / Trauma

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Two weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule

    Key Responsibilities
    • Deliver attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members on a 34-bed Trauma Med/Surg unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
    • Prioritize and manage care for medical-surgical and trauma patients, including IV insertion, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
    • Utilize unit equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCD devices, continuous pulse oximetry machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, and bladder scanners
    • Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
    • Conduct bedside shift reports and actively include patients and family members in the plan of care
    • Float to other units as needed per facility contract labor rotation policy
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • BLS certification (required)
    • Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience
    • Ability to prioritize care and multitask in a fast-paced trauma environment
    • Proficiency with IV insertion, basic wound care, and management of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience in a trauma or Level II Trauma Center setting
    • Familiarity with Meditech electronic health records
    • Experience with telemetry monitoring and related unit equipment
    • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with patients and families and incorporate them into care planning
