Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Orthopedic Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule | Holiday rotation participation expected
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 22-bed Orthopedic/Telemetry unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6
- Care for patients with common orthopedic diagnoses including joint replacements and fractures; Total Joint Replacement experience required
- Collaborate with a team that includes a Charge Nurse available 24/7 and CNAs on each shift
- Monitor telemetry as needed; RNs are not required to independently read strips
- Administer respiratory therapy equipment (e.g., CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow) on an as-needed basis
- Float to other units as needed (e.g., comparable med-surg floors within the facility)
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in the state of West Virginia (or compact license eligibility)
- BLS certification (required, must be current and unexpired)
- Strong orthopedic nursing experience, including Total Joint Replacement (not fractures alone)
- COVID-19 vaccination required; medical or religious exemption requests must be submitted with appropriate documentation for review and approval
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in an orthopedic or telemetry setting
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring in an acute care environment
- Experience working with CNA-supported teams and high-acuity orthopedic patient populations
