Job TitleRegistered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required | Every other holiday required | 13-week assignment
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a general medical unit serving a broad range of medical diagnoses and acuity levels
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:7-8 on nights, delivering safe and effective nursing care throughout the shift
- Administer and document all respiratory treatments as nurses are responsible for all respiratory care on the unit
- Collaborate with a shared charge nurse, nurse aides, hospitalists available 24/7, pharmacy, and IV/nurse resource teams to coordinate patient care
- Utilize Epic EMR for all clinical documentation and patient management
- Adhere to unit-specific protocols including IV insertion attempts prior to escalating to IV team support
Required Qualifications- Active RN license valid in Connecticut
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Medical Surgical or similar setting
- Prior travel nursing experience required - first-time travelers will not be considered
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must be available every other weekend, including Sundays - candidates unable to work full weekends will not be considered
- Expected weekly hours of 36, with overtime expected after 48 hours; candidates must be comfortable with up to 48 hours per week
- No blocked schedules available; candidates requiring blocked scheduling will not be considered
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience caring for general medical patients with varied and complex diagnoses
- Familiarity with CPAP/BiPAP and basic respiratory treatment administration
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal time-off requests, particularly within the first two weeks of an assignment
