    Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

    Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 42-bed Medical Surgical unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 (occasionally 1:6)
    • Care for a diverse patient population including total joints, orthopedic hip fractures, spine surgeries, urology procedures, general surgeries, GYN overflow, and medical overflow cases such as COPD, sepsis, and behavioral health
    • Read and interpret telemetry strips independently; unit utilizes virtual tele techs and SpaceLab/Philips monitoring systems
    • Manage common drips including heparin, PCAs, and morphine drips (titration of drips not required)
    • Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs (1:8 ratio), and RT staff managing CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow equipment
    • May precept new travelers or nursing students as needed; willingness to do so should be noted during interview
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license
    • Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience required
    • BLS certification required
    • EKG certification required
    • EPIC EMR experience required
    • Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
    • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with orthopedic, surgical, or urology patient populations
    • Comfort with precepting travelers or nursing students
    • Familiarity with Philips monitoring systems
