    Key Responsibilities
    • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop and update individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients and their families.
    • Provide and direct nursing care, evaluate patient outcomes, and educate patients and family members, documenting accordingly.
    • Utilize evidence-based tools, established policies, procedures, and standards of care and practice.
    • Apply technology appropriately, adhering to safety standards and infection prevention protocols.
    • Report actual or potential occurrences per facility procedures and participate in unit-based performance improvement activities and staff meetings.
    • Practice at all times in accordance with the legal definition of nursing in the State of Michigan, including provisions on delegation and supervision.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Michigan RN License — must be uploaded with profile at time of submission.
    • Active American Heart Association BLS certification — must be in hand at profile upload; facility will not pend certifications.
    • Active American Heart Association ACLS certification — must be in hand at profile upload; facility will not pend certifications.
    • Minimum 2 years of current Medical Surgical nursing experience required.
    • Must have own personal vehicle for this assignment.
    • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Demonstrated experience with relationship-based care models and patient/family education.
    • Experience participating in peer review, mandatory education, and ongoing professional development activities.
    • Familiarity with performance improvement initiatives and shared governance in a hospital setting.
