Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit operating under a virtual integrated care (VIC) nursing model, with a patient ratio of 6:1
- Care for patients with common diagnoses including CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, CKD, and general med/surg telemetry conditions
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips; telemetry monitor technicians are present on the unit but RNs are expected to be proficient in reading strips
- Manage patients requiring respiratory support including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
- Float to all med/surg units as needed
- Work assigned schedule as determined by unit manager, including every other weekend and required holidays
Required Qualifications- Active RN licensure in the state of Texas or compact license eligibility
- Experience in Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry/cardiac monitor strips
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Ability to work an assigned schedule; block scheduling is not available
- Willingness to wear navy blue scrubs per dress code policy
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience caring for patients on CPAP, BiPAP, or high-flow oxygen
- Familiarity with a virtual integrated care (VIC) nursing model
- Experience working in a high-acuity med/surg telemetry environment
