Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical in Little Rock, AR

Care for patients with surgical diagnoses including colorectal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, general, and orthopedic procedures, as well as medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, COPD, and kidney and GI conditions. Collaborate with respiratory therapy for equipment management; RNs are not required to independently manage vents, CPAP, BiPAP, or high-flow devices beyond basic troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Float between Med/Oncology, surgical, and medical units within a large 128-bed Med/Surg department, adapting to varying patient populations and unit needs
• Provide total patient care in a setting without PCAs, managing a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for patients with surgical diagnoses including colorectal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, general, and orthopedic procedures, as well as medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, COPD, and kidney and GI conditions
• Perform occasional cardiac strip reading as needed; no titration of drips required
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy for equipment management; RNs are not required to independently manage vents, CPAP, BiPAP, or high-flow devices beyond basic troubleshooting
• Work every other weekend as part of the standard scheduling rotation; no on-call or standby requirement

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (or compact eligibility for Arkansas)
• Current BLS certification required
• Current, relevant medical/surgical nursing experience
• Large hospital experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a float pool or across multiple units
• Familiarity with remote telemetry monitoring environments
• Exposure to or experience with Epic EMR (facility transitioning to Epic in late 2026)
