    Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend, Every Other Holiday | Non-Local Candidates Only

    Key Responsibilities
    • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
    • Safely administer medications including heparin drips and occasional PCA medications in accordance with state practice standards and facility policies.
    • Manage care for primarily orthopedic patients (backs, necks, hips, knees), post-operative bariatric surgery patients, and some trauma and general medical patients.
    • Monitor and manage surgical drains including Hemovac, True-close, and JP drains, and assist with safe patient movement and positioning post-operatively.
    • Serve as point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments, advocating for patient safety and quality improvement.
    • Collaborate with LPN team members and support staff; communicate effectively with patients, families, and all members of the care team.
    Required Qualifications
    • Current RN license in state of practice or covered under a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
    • Dysrhythmia Exam required prior to start (study guide available).
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with patients and multidisciplinary staff.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with post-operative orthopedic patients including backs, hips, and knees, and familiarity with surgical drain management.
    • Experience with Alaris infusion pumps and EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR).
    • CCRN or PCCN certification preferred.
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
