Key Responsibilities

• Assume full responsibility and accountability for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for assigned patients during each shift, using age-specific criteria
• Apply scientific knowledge and clinical skills to make sound clinical judgments and recognize changes in patient status, intervening promptly as needed
• Monitor and manage cardiac medications including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardene, Dobutamine, Lasix, and Bumex, with competency in titration and application
• Interpret telemetry readings and demonstrate knowledge of heart rhythms to support patient safety
• Recognize signs and symptoms of stroke and initiate appropriate interventions
• Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff including LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries; float to units within scope of practice and skill set as required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing
• Active Ohio RN License or Compact RN License (verified via Nursys)
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS Certification
• Active NIHSS Certification
• Current Skills Checklist (within the past year) pertinent to Med Surg / Telemetry specialty required at time of submission
• Candidates with a permanent address within 45 miles of the facility are considered local travelers and are subject to an adjusted travel rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with MediTech EMR
• Strong critical thinking skills with demonstrated ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
