Key Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care using the nursing process for Medical/Surgical/PCU patients
Administer medications and perform treatments accurately and safely in accordance with established policies and procedures
Provide patient and family education from admission through discharge
Document the nursing process thoroughly, concisely, and accurately in a timely manner
Notify the physician of pertinent observations and changes in patient status
Direct and delegate role-appropriate tasks to nursing assistants and co-workers as needed
Required Qualifications
Completion of an accredited nursing program resulting in a Diploma in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Valid Registered Nurse license to practice in the State of Ohio
Current CPR certification
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to make independent decisions
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to perform heavy work, including exerting 50–100 pounds of force occasionally and frequent patient handling
Preferred Experience / Skills
Previous Registered Nurse experience in a Medical/Surgical or PCU setting
Familiarity with AIDET and TeamSTEPPS communication frameworks
Experience supervising or directing nursing assistants in a clinical environment
