Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical in Lafayette, IN

Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a Medical/Surgical unit serving ortho and general surgery, back surgery, GI, renal, oncology, and general medical patients. Utilize unit equipment including Alaris pumps, Kangaroo pumps, vein light, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Vocera communication devices.

Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Nights (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM) | Onsite | 13-Week Assignment | 36 Hours/Week Guaranteed | Every Third Weekend (Saturday/Sunday)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical/Surgical unit serving ortho and general surgery, back surgery, GI, renal, oncology, and general medical patients
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 in a 27–30 bed unit environment
• Utilize unit equipment including Alaris pumps, Kangaroo pumps, vein light, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Vocera communication devices
• Float between multiple Med/Surg units within the same facility as needed
• Document and manage patient care using Epic EMR
• Complete required computer-based training (CBTs) prior to first day of clinical orientation

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg experience, including previous travel nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Telemetry experience
• Proficiency with Epic EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with general and orthopedic post-operative care
• Experience managing Heparin drips and blood administration
• Epic use within the past year (may allow testing out of additional Epic education modules)
