Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct medical-surgical nursing care to patients on a 20-bed Transplant Nephrology unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
- Deliver comprehensive care to patients with renal conditions, including those who have undergone kidney transplants
- Coordinate with off-unit dialysis services and communicate patient status effectively to the care team
- Utilize Meditech for clinical documentation and patient record management
- Collaborate with unit secretaries, patient care technicians, and a unit educator to support patient care delivery
- Fulfill scheduling requirements including 3 weekend shifts per month; agency/contract nurses float first per unit policy
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with a minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in medical-surgical nursing
- Ability to work in a Level 1 Trauma designated facility
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Background in nephrology, renal care, or kidney transplant nursing
- Familiarity with dialysis patient care coordination
- Experience with Meditech documentation system
