Job Title

Seasonal Travel RN – Medical Surgical / Transplant Nephrology (Days)

Location

Kansas City, MO | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Expected 48 hours/week | 3 weekend shifts per month required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct medical-surgical nursing care on a 20-bed Transplant Nephrology unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Collaborate with unit secretaries, PCTs, and a unit educator to deliver coordinated patient care
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Support kidney transplant and renal patient populations; dialysis is coordinated off the unit
• Float to other units as needed per facility policy (contract nurses float first)
• Partner with virtual nursing staff who handle patient admissions, allowing bedside nurses to focus on direct patient care

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (ADN minimum)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Experience in medical-surgical, nephrology, renal, or related care settings
• Ability to commit to 3 weekend shifts per month

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with kidney transplant patients
• Familiarity with dialysis patient care and renal disease management
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Proficiency with Meditech or similar electronic health record systems
