Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 23-bed Orthopedic/Trauma unit with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Care for post-operative patients including knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, as well as trauma patients and neuro overflow
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including traction, fixators, and cooling equipment
• Document patient care using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Conduct bedside shift reports and perform hourly rounding in accordance with patient experience standards
• Float to other Medical Surgical level-of-care units (General MS, Nephrology, Neuro/Trauma) as needed — contract staff are first to float

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be valid for the state of Missouri or compact eligibility)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Ability to work three 12-hour day shifts per week, including three weekend shifts per schedule period

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Orthopedic nursing experience strongly preferred
• Telemetry (Tele) experience
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or familiarity — helpful given neuro overflow patients on the unit
